I don’t think the Buddha-Bar needs an introduction. Chances are, most of you already carry a few memories of its legendary nights somewhere in the back of your mind. I’ve been many times myself — the music, that hushed, unmistakable mood, a sushi menu that never disappoints. But the other night, someone led me through a door I’d genuinely never clocked before. And that changed everything. Meet Le Salon by Maison Moghadam.

To bring this space to life, there was only one house the Buddha-Bar could turn to: Maison Moghadam, a true Monaco institution. Their atelier sits on Boulevard des Moulins, two minutes from my front door — I confess I window-shop there more than I’d like to admit. Official supplier to the Prince’s Palace for over fifty years, the family has built its name on fearless, unexpected decor. And walking into their creation here, I’ll admit it stopped me in my tracks: a cocoon entirely sealed off from the world, styled like a contemporary boudoir. Japanese-inspired wallpaper, deep woodwork, heavy velvet curtains fading through midnight blue, red and dark green, wrapping the room in complete privacy. Step through the door and the party outside simply vanishes. That sudden hush, that instant sense of intimacy — it’s the first thing that got me.

Then come the details, and I lingered over every one. Velvet seating built for sinking into all night, beautifully worn objects that make the room feel like it’s always been lived in, tablecloths embroidered with Asian motifs in warm browns and gold. And the table setting itself — Marbellous, Moghadam’s signature onyx line, with plates, bowls and glasses carved straight from stone. I’d never seen anything like it here before. This isn’t dinner in a pretty room. This is dinner inside a work of art, and you feel it the second you sit down.

To me, this is unmistakably a save-it-for-the-right-moment kind of place. An intimate dinner for two. A drink with your closest friends, far from the noise. The kind of evening you’ll want to mention the next day — without giving too much away.
