With the arrival of summer and the new “place to be” of South American specialties that have settled in the Principality, it is natural that I met Daniela Spanier, president and founder of the Association Monegasque for Latin America. is from Bolivia where she grew up, between Santa Cruz, La Paz and New York. At the age of 20, she came to Germany to study finance and international marketing. She continued her studies in Zurich, Switzerland, where she started a professional career in the banking sector. Her field of action: strategic controlling, consulting, private banking, head hunting and this for ten years. It is also in Zurich that she met her future husband who lives in the Principality and after two years of round trips and a baby on the way, she decides to move in Monaco.

She discovers there a great international community, takes the opportunity to learn French at the Alliance Française, yoga classes and blossom in her mother’s role. She meets talented and very enthusiastic South American women. They share, discuss and the idea makes its way to highlight the values and diversity of Latin America in Monaco. With four close friends, Claudia from Colombia, Yilen from Cuba, Erika from Peru and Marcela from Guatemala, Daniela founded the Monegasque Association for Latin America in July 2017. Its aim is the socio-cultural exchange between the Principality and Latin American countries through cultural and social activities. Their wish is to see A.M.L.A become a reference between the Principality and the Latin American member countries and to develop synergies between the two zones.

Since then they already organized three events, including the last one: “glamorous night in Havana” on the beach of Meridien Beach Plaza. An evening dedicated to Cuba cigar cocktail through music, dance, art and flavors of exotic cuisine. All senses are stimulated! What makes their events special and enriching: for a country that is showcased, it is all the culture and the traditions of this country which are put forward through the music, the dance, the painting, the cuisine etc… It is all organized with the collaboration of the various South American entities (associations, embassies, consulates) existing in the Principality.

The most international of Bolivian women has met her challenge and everyone is conquered! She is delighted to reveal her 10 favorite addresses in the Principality.
