I have always been attracted by auctions. The atmosphere, that is very particular, can change in a blink of an eye, as everyone is trying to take hold on the coveted object. An experience of discovery, from objects that are uncommon and extraordinary to art pieces with an history in the making. I have already talked to you about it, during the Monaco Art Week and there we are, Artcurial just dropped his luggage at the Hermitage Hotel, for some very special selling! In love with this hotel and just next to my home, it is a perfect timing and place! Moreover, Hermitage has been the choice for my wedding and coming back there, it is always a pleasure. 

 

From the 15th July 2019, Artcurial arranged a meeting of International collectors for an entire week of prestigious and exclusive expositions and selling. On the 17th- 18th and 19th of July, within the walls of the beautiful hotel, the summer sales take place offering a diversified range of exclusive objects: Jewellery, collectors watches, “Les temps est femminin”, Hermes summer collection and a large, private and exceptional collection of fashion accessories: From Brazil to Monaco. In the eyes of an elegant woman, putting together a selection of bags Alaïa, Chanel, Fendi, Hermes…

During these three days of sales, Artcurial, will unveil numerous pieces with an uncommon provenience. We can particularly quote: The Lip watch, offered to Général de Gaulle and that has been named in honour of this prestigious gift, the Panerai watch belonging to the German diver Helmut Rosel, 2 Hermes luggage owned at a time by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, sold in favour of the association “Médecin du Monde”, as well as an extraordinary and rare pair of clips Suzanne Belperron coming form an important family of the French nobility.

 

At the same time, “Monaco Sculptures”, some masterpieces are exposed and dispersed in the heart of Monaco. As the other pieces, the sculptures will be part of an auction that will take place on the 19th of July, but will still be visible in Monaco till the end of this summer. This cultural event accessible to a large public, puts together, during this summer, a selection of sculptures from the XXth and XXIst century representing the image of artists as Takis, César, Arman, Bernar Venet, Wang Du, Philippe Hiquily, François-Xavier Lalanne, Keith Haring or even Richard Deacon. An artistic walk in the streets of the principality, where you wull discover the creation of modern and contemporary sculptures. This open-air walk gives the masterpieces a monumental and imposing dimension. A trip, able to underline the changes and the differences in the art of the two centuries. This journey takes place between some different locations managed by the Resort Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer: Hotel de Paris, Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel

& Resort, Monte-Carlo Beach…

Masterpieces of a smaller dimensions, as the Bronzes of Cesar or of Rembrandt Bugatti, will be exposed at 3/9 boulevard des Moulins in Monaco, the new address of Artcurial Monaco.
